Artist Statement

Nature is the focus and inspiration for much of my work. I edit and select details from the vast beauty of Delaware land and water "scapes." Color, light, and texture are critical elements in the celebration of the natural beauty around me.

About the Artist

Recognition and Awards: Zando was a recipient of a District of Columbia Mayors Arts Award in 1981. In1991, Zando received an Honorable Mention from the Delaware State Arts Council. As a resident of Delaware for more than 25 years, she is involved in fund raising, volunteering and supporting several community and regional arts organizations. Zando has displayed work in the Carvel Building Arts Gallery, Biggs Museum, Delaware Agriculture Museum and the Rehoboth Art League, Ocean Medical Imaging Gallery and numerous regional exhibition spaces. In the past five years Zando has been responsible for the organization of a numerous group art exhibitions many of which contributed funds to local charities. Venues include: Milton Theatre; Abbotts Grill Restaurant in Milford; The Milton Historical Society; The Cordrey Center in Millsboro; The Kitchen at Paynter’s Mill and Ocean Medical Imaging Gallery. Zando was featured in June 2012, Beach Life Magazine- for her work developing art events in new spaces.
