Artist Statement

Ever since childhood, I've had a fascination with earth's creations. A creative nature, a knack for making things with my hands, and my love of nature's stones, led me to try my hand at jewelry. I'd always been good at taking things apart and putting them back together. High school sewing classes led me into designing clothes with color and different fabric textures to accent my designs. I have chosen to also incorporate textures with metals and color in stones in my jewelry creations. Patina and different metal techniques are used to enhance the pieces.

I've chosen to love the use of very unusual stones combined with different metals, textures, and patinas on my pieces. I'm always looking for something different. All my stones are hand selected. The jewelry I create appeals to those searching for one of a kind treasures. Something unique that they can relate to on a personal basis. No two of my creations are exactly the same. One quirky detail of my creations is that I try to make the back of the piece just as interesting as the front. So I always add a little surprise to the back.
