Artist Statement

Mosaic have supported our steps, covered our walls and told us stories for almost 5000 years. In modern times, great artists create fantastic masterpieces, combining tradition and exploration of new aesthetic directions. It's a millennial art of patience, precision and technical discipline. Every tile is unique, cut to be placed in a specific space.

In my art, I cut and assemble marble, glass, ceramics, slate and many other materials in order to reach a result that captures aesthetic unity and tactile curiosity.

I get my inspiration from tribal art of Aboriginals, north and south American Indians and pre-historic rock art. The paintings and engravings found in the caves where our ancestors lived evoke the echoes of their thoughts and spirituality. With their simple techniques and the colors and materials found in nature, they created a primordial, universal and absolutely contemporary language.
