Artist Statement

Dorothy Greet creates all of her prints using digital imaging.  With computer monitor as “canvas”, Greet captures the charm and beauty of historic coastal Lewes, Delaware. The artist’s works include such historic landmarks as the Zwaanendael Museum, the Lightship Overfalls, and Lewes’ picturesque churches and lighthouses. Limited edition prints are produced in bold flat areas of rich colored Vivera inks on archival paper.

The artist has exhibited her work at the Children’s Beach House Annual Art Show and at St. Peter’s Outdoor Art Show, both in Lewes.  Currently her work can be seen
at the Rehoboth Art League, at Thistle’s Gallery in Lewes, and at local gift shops. Visitors are welcome, by appointment, at her home studio & gallery where she does business under the name GREET GRAPHICS.

Greet studied drawing and painting at the Art Institute and at Carnegie Museum of Art, both in Pittsburgh, and at The Famous Artists’ School in Westport, Connecticut.  In addition she has studied emerging artistic techniques made possible through digital imaging.

Dorothy Greet is a retired educator and ordained Congregational/UCC minister with advanced degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Yale University.  As clergywoman, she served parishes and hospitals in Connecticut, New York City, and Delaware.  She relocated to Lewes, Delaware, from New York City in 1999 to become Beebe Medical Center’s first Director of Chaplaincy Services.
