Artist Statement

Light and color have always captivated me whether it be the early dawn, a summer lightning sky or sun streaming through glass. All create rainbows of exquisite light play.

STAINED GLASS
Stained glass combines design, skillful means, and playfulness. As with most creative arts, it fully engages one: body, mind, emotions and spirit. And as such, it is a meditation in that one works fully in the present, focused solely on the glass and how it wants to be in any particular creation.

Many years ago, I became absorbed with the luminous dance of color and design. Bevels and "jewels" fascinate me as well as combining non-glass objects with the glass. For example, I use mesh overlays, agates, and metal objects (such as bugs and buttons)-anything that can be foiled and that contributes to the design and that will withstand the soldering process. My specialties are window hangings and transoms and sidelights. I do accept custom orders.

GLASS AND STONE WRAPPED PENDANTS
I grew up in the jewelry business:  my father bought and sold pearls, cameos and semi-precious stones to jewelry manufacturers.  As a young child, I learned that the finer the light, clarity and color in a piece, the higher the vibration and the beauty.  This remains true even when speaking of an opaque stone, such as malachite or charoite.  So, inevitably, I began to work with polished stones and dichroic glass to create sterling silver and 14 K gold-filled wire wrapped pendants. 
Art has always inspired my work including my time as a school teacher and organization development consultant for corporations for over 30 years. Today, I work as an energy awareness and intuitive coach, teacher, workshop leader, writer and artist. And in all these forums, my medium is the energy of light. We all know this energy as the "ah-ha" of spirit, a new idea that inspires us, and the flow state of the athlete. It is also the "letting go" of deep relaxation and prayer. Light energy is ultimately healing energy. So, for me, to work in a medium in which everyone can see, touch and emotionally feel the light streams of creation is a wonder-filled space and a privilege.

I do accept custom orders for both the stained glass creations and the wire-wrapped pendants.  All of our designs are unique-emanating from a collaborative process among you, the customer, myself, and the materials.  Light Magik!
