Artist Statement

Anna Biggs graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and The Fashion Institute of Technology. Her work is derived from nature and architecture as well as her travels to foreign lands such as Italy and Indonesia. She juxtaposes the texture and detail on her hand-carved sculptures with the smooth luxury of pearls and stones. With bead, earring or ring shank each piece carries Anna's signature style.

This combination of classic aesthetic with youthful syle creates jewelry that can be worn from work to play. The women who wear her work call it "classic with a twist" and feel equally comfortable wearing her pieces in jeans and a t-shirt or a little black dress. Each piece creates the feeling of effortless elegance all day long.

Anna begins each sulpture with a rough piece of wax. Each design is carved into the wax using a variety of file, burrs, and heated tools. The final product is brought to life using the lost wax process. Each element is then hand finished by the artist.

There is no doubt that each piece is made with heirloom quality and is intended to be passed from mother to daughter for generations.
